RidePickup connects US riders with independent professional drivers. We display driver profiles, relay trip requests, and step out of the way — the actual trip is a direct agreement between you and the driver you choose.
Why we’re building this.
Uber and Lyft optimized for one thing: on-demand, right-now rides. For that, they’re great. But there’s a second category they don’t serve well — pre-booked rides where details matter: airport pickup at 5am, a full-day private driver for business meetings, a round-trip LA-to-Vegas weekend, a medical appointment where you need the same driver every week.
For those trips, riders want to choose the driver — by language, by vehicle, by profile, by price — not get assigned one at random. And drivers want to set their own rates, accept or decline based on the fit, and communicate with riders directly.
RidePickup is a marketplace for that gap. Riders post what they need, drivers quote what they can do, and the two sides connect. We don’t dispatch, we don’t collect payments, we don’t take a cut of your trip. We just make it easier for the right rider to find the right driver.
What sets a marketplace apart from a dispatch app.
You pick the driver based on their profile, language, vehicle, and quoted price — not whoever happens to be closest.
Each driver is a separate business. They set rates, pick which requests to take, and own their customer relationship.
Listing your profile or posting a request is free, and we don’t take a commission on the trip fare. Payment goes directly from rider to driver.
It matters for legal reasons, and it matters for your expectations.
