Is there any cost to list?

No. Creating your profile is free. There’s no monthly fee, no per-request charge, and no commission on the fares you collect. The platform is free to drivers, period.

How does RidePickup make money, then?

Long-term, through optional paid features for drivers (premium placement, verified badges, fleet tools) and possibly rider-side services. For now, the focus is building the driver and rider base. Nothing you do on the platform today costs anything.

Do I need commercial insurance or TCP / livery license?

It depends on your state and the type of service. California has TCP requirements for certain private-car services; other states have similar rules. Each driver is responsible for their own compliance — RidePickup doesn’t verify regulatory status. Consult your local DMV or CPUC equivalent.

Can I set my own prices?

Yes — every quote you send to a rider is yours. You can set profile-level starting rates (e.g., “airport transfer from $80”) and adjust per-trip when quoting. No algorithm controls pricing.

What happens if a rider doesn’t pay?

Payment is between you and the rider, off-platform. Best practices: ask for payment details up front (Venmo, Zelle, card), confirm price in writing, and for larger trips consider a deposit. We can relay rider contact info if there’s a dispute, but we’re not a party to the transaction.

Can I use the same vehicle on Uber/Lyft and RidePickup?

Yes. Many drivers do. Use Uber/Lyft for on-demand when you have gaps, and RidePickup for pre-booked, higher-value trips. Nothing prevents running both.

How do I get more requests?

Complete your profile thoroughly (photos, full vehicle description, clear service area, languages). Respond fast to incoming requests. Set fair starting rates. Over time, repeat riders and referrals drive steady demand.

Is there an English driver app / dashboard?

The driver-side dashboard is currently in Chinese (mobile-web and desktop). An English version is coming. For now, non-Chinese-speaking drivers can still use the apply form and manage requests via email. Email [email protected] if you’d like early access to the English dashboard.
